ABVT Travel Award


The American Board of Veterinary Toxicology (ABVT) Travel award provides support for a veterinarian with an active interest in veterinary toxicology to attend a national conference and deliver an oral and/or poster presentation.

 

Eligibility Requirements


To be eligible for the ABVT Veterinary Travel Award a candidate must:

  1. Be a graduate of a veterinary school or college accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA); or possess a certificate of accreditation in veterinary medicine from the Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates of the AVMA; or be legally qualified (e.g. licensed or equivalent) to practice veterinary medicine in some state, province, territory, or possession of the United States or Canada or other country. 
  2. Be actively involved in toxicology or a closely related field (i.e., pharmacology, nutrition, emergency and critical care, internal medicine, public health, toxicologic pathology to name a few examples).  Involvement includes employment or enrollment in a residency or graduate program.  

This is a competitive program. ABVT Diplomates are not eligible for the award.

The submission deadline for the ABVT Travel Award has been extended to February 15, 2021 (midnight). We recognize that COVID-19 may interfere with travel, so other options such as publication or a virtual presentation will be considered.
